  • 01

    Total square footage of beds

Mulch type — hardwood, cedar, pine bark

  • 03

Depth of application (2–4 inches recommended)

  • 04

Bed prep and weed barrier included

Questions we hear about seasonal mulching.

  • When should I mulch?

Spring (March–April) and fall (October–November) are ideal. Spring mulch conserves moisture through summer. Fall mulch insulates roots through winter.

  • How deep should mulch be applied?

2–3 inches is ideal. Too thin and weeds break through. Too thick can suffocate roots and create moisture problems.

  • What mulch type do you recommend for Henderson County?

Hardwood or cedar mulch are most popular — durable, attractive, and work well in our climate. Pine bark decomposes faster and benefits acid-loving plants.
