Service terms

The deal, in plain English.

No contracts. No cancellation fees. No fine print that contradicts what we said on the phone. These terms cover how we work, what you're paying for, and what we both agree to when you book.

Last updated: May 12, 2026

1. Who you're dealing with

Betterside Home Services is a Texas-based home-services business run by four partners: John Cravey, Matt Snider, Pablo Novelo, and Josh Grounds. When this document says “we” or “Betterside,” that's us.

2. What you're buying

We provide residential and commercial home services — lawn care, cleaning, pressure washing, and the related work listed on the site. When you build a plan or contact us, we'll write you a quote describing exactly which services we'll perform, at what address, on what cadence (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or one-time), and at what price. That quote is the scope.

If you ask us to add work outside that scope, we'll quote the change before we do it. We don't add line items silently.

3. No contracts. Pause anytime.

All recurring service is month-to-month. There's no long-term contract, no cancellation fee, and no auto-renewal trap. Text us “pause” or “cancel” and we stop the next visit. Resume whenever.

4. Pricing & payment

  • · Prices on the plan page are the prices you pay. No first-visit upcharges.
  • · Recurring plans bill monthly by card or ACH. You authorize the charge when you accept the quote.
  • · One-time work bills on completion.
  • · Sales tax is added where required by Texas law.
  • · Late payments past 30 days may pause future service until the balance is settled. We'll text first.

5. The first-visit guarantee

Every new client gets the first visit free if it doesn't hit our standard. Not “we'll redo it” — free. No invoice, no friction. To claim it: text us within 48 hours of the visit and tell us what missed. We honor it on every new account.

6. Scheduling, weather, and access

  • · We give you a route day for your address when we build the quote. Visit windows are typically a 4-hour range.
  • · If weather makes a visit unsafe or counterproductive (heavy rain on a mow, freezing temps on a pressure wash), we reschedule. We text before we do.
  • · Access is your responsibility — gate codes, unlocked side gates, dog containment. If we can't reach the work area on a scheduled visit and didn't hear from you first, we may bill a no-access fee equal to half the visit price. We'll text before charging.

7. Property & damage

We treat every property like it's our own. If we damage something through negligence, we own it — we fix it or reimburse the actual repair cost, whichever you prefer. To report damage: text us within 7 days of the visit so we can investigate while the cause is fresh.

We're not responsible for: pre-existing damage, damage caused by hidden obstacles you didn't flag (irrigation heads not properly capped, buried wires, etc.), or normal wear from contracted service.

8. Insurance & licensing

Betterside is a newer business actively working toward general liability insurance and any required municipal licensing. Until those policies are in place we operate transparently about our status — ask any partner directly and we'll tell you exactly where we are. When the coverage is bound, this section will be updated with the carrier and policy summary.

9. Photos & before/after

We send you photos after every visit. We may use exterior / property photos in our portfolio or social posts. We never show your address, identifying interior shots, or anything that would let someone reverse-engineer where you live. If you prefer no portfolio use at all, text us and we'll opt your property out — same week, no questions.

10. Liability cap

To the maximum extent permitted by Texas law, Betterside's total liability arising from any one incident is capped at the total fees you paid us in the 3 months prior. We accept this limit because we're a small local business, and we're honest about that scale.

11. Disputes

If something goes wrong, text the partners first. We solve problems same-week, in person. If a dispute can't be resolved that way, both parties agree to mediation in Henderson County, TX before any litigation. Governing law: the State of Texas.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change material terms, we'll update the “last updated” date above and email existing clients with a summary. New terms apply to visits after the effective date. Past visits stay under whatever was in force when we did the work.

13. Contact

Text (903) 425-4656, call the same number, or use the contact form. Matt answers personally.
